Indigenous Clean Energy

A social enterprise that's empowering leadership and collaboration by Indigenous peoples on the path to a clean energy future.

ICE is an independent, Indigenous-governed non-profit organization. ICE advances the broader sustainable prosperity by supporting First Nation, Inuit and Métis clean energy participation from coast-to-coast-to-coast.

We are an open and inclusive community where Indigenous peoples and allies strengthen their capacity and relationships by engaging in intensive collaboration to make clean energy projects a reality.

Our programs extend to all parts of Canada, including rural, remote and northern regions. A central feature of ICE programming is outreach to Indigenous communities, through programs such as the 20/20 Catalysts, by engaging Elders and youth, as well as adults in participating in the clean energy economy; promoting job creation, economic development and skills.

The end results of ICE programming are a highly impactful series of strategies that enhance: Indigenous social stability and resilience, advance Indigenous (and local) economic development and employment through clean energy, and protect the environment, notably combatting climate change through GHG emissions reduction.
