In 2015, Greater Saskatoon Catholic Schools unveiled the St. Michael School Métis Education Model in partnership with the Central Urban Métis Federation, Inc. (CUMFI). At St. Michael, curricular content is enhanced through Métis themes, content, and perspectives. Northern Michif is also highlighted through the adaptive dimension, bilingual early learning classrooms, and a core Northern Michif program. In addition to Métis learning opportunities through curriculum, students are immersed in Métis cultural learning opportunities through a Grade 6-8 Fiddle program, a jigging dance group, and collaborations with Métis Knowledge Keepers, resource people and organizations.
