Overview
Chief Moosomin School is Pre – K to grade 12 and is located 30 kilometers north of North Battleford Saskatchewan. Moosomin First Nation Education Council (MFNEC) is dedicated and culturally rooted to furthering academic, cultural and language pride of all students. MFNEC is accepting all applications for the 2025 – 2026 school year for the Learning Resources Teacher position. Placement of the successful candidate will work with Pre – K to grade 12 students and teachers. MFNEC follows the STF salary grid and offers Pension & Benefits to all full-time staff.
Description
Under the supervision of the Principal, the Learning Resources Teacher will coordinate the operation and implementation of the Pre – K to grade 12 Learning Resources program and material adoptions. The Learning Resources Teacher will assist in the implementation of instructional programs outlined in the curriculum. In addition, the Learning Resources Teacher will work to create a learning resources program that will effectively work school wide. Supervision of the staff who are under the learning resource program will be assigned to the learning resources coordinator.
Qualifications
· Must hold a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.).
· Saskatchewan “Professional A” teacher’s certificate who can teach in grades Pre-K to 12 and who possesses post-graduate classes / certificate in Special Education and /or related teaching experience
· Demonstrated ability to work with special needs students such as:
o Assess student skills and determine their educational needs
o Adapt and modify general lessons to meet students’ needs
o Develop Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for each student
o Provide intervention in small groups, and one-on-one
o Implement IEPs, assess students’ performance, and track their progress
o Update IEPs throughout the school year to reflect students’ progress and goals
o Support and mentor education assistants
o Prepare transition plans for students transitioning to a new grade and for graduates
· Experience working with First Nation Education Systems
· Knowledge of First Nation education issues, challenges, and delivery models
· The ability to build strong relationships with families and community
· members through a variety of family engagement activities
· The willingness to work with school staff, consultants, and outside agencies in a collaborative, professional manner
· The ability to keep an accurate and organized record system for a variety of paperwork including files, reports, and referrals
· Provide a clean CPIC and Vulnerable Sector
· Possess a valid Saskatchewan Driver’s License.
