
EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY - Student Services Consultant
Treaty Six Education Council, located in North Battleford, SK and serving First Nation communities
across west-central Saskatchewan, is currently accepting applications for a STUDENT SERVICES
CONSULTANT to begin August 2025.
Responsible to the Director of Education, the Student Services Consultant will provide expertise
and support to the teachers and Principals in the member schools with respect to research and
administration of realistic Individualized Education Plans (IEP) for students with special needs.
Qualifications:
• Minimum Masters of Education, preferably in special education.
• Minimum 5 years of successful experience working in a First Nations setting in special
education or a related field.
• Preference in knowledge of regular classroom teaching, resource class teaching, IEP
development and administration/interpretation of standardized achievement tests.
• Experience with best practices in educational leadership and trends/need in the education of
students with diverse needs.
• Must possess a current, and valid, Driver's License
• Experience in the delivery of human services would be an asset.
Required Skills and Abilities:
• Knowledge and understanding of curriculum-based teaching, learning and assessment.
• Ability to work with and assist classroom teachers and school principals.
• A commitment to be informed and remain current regarding human services, education of
students with diverse needs, promising practices and methodologies in teaching young learners.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to maintain rapport and relationship with
colleagues
• Must be willing to work as a peer mentor/co-teacher.
• Must be willing to reflect on current teaching practice and focus on continuous improvement.
• Must have strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize/manage multiple tasks.
• Self-motivated and able to work under minimal supervision
• Excellent interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability to work with others effectively.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrate sound judgement in resolving issues/problems.
• Proficiency in the operation of computers, word processing applications and additional
software.
• Knowledge of principles and methods for curriculum and training design, teaching and
instruction for individuals and groups, and the measurement of training effects.
• Must be willing and able to travel on a near daily basis
• Must include a current Criminal Records Report and Vulnerable Sector Check.
