Northern Michif Language Teaching Opportunities

In 2015, Greater Saskatoon Catholic Schools unveiled the St. Michael School Métis Education Model in partnership with the Central Urban Métis Federation, Inc. (CUMFI). At St. Michael, curricular content is enhanced through Métis themes, content and perspectives. Michif language is also highlighted through the adaptive dimension and a core Northern Michif program. In addition to Métis learning opportunities through curriculum, students are immersed in Métis cultural learning opportunities through a Grade 6-8 Fiddle program, a jigging dance group, and collaborations with Métis Knowledge Keepers, resource people and organizations.
